A recent article by Chauffeur Driven Magazine discusses sustainability as one of the corporate trends of 2013. An excerpt from the article is shown below:
“Like it or not and even though price, quality, brand, and convenience will continue to be the primary drivers in the decision-making process, in 2013 we will see sustainability increasingly a part of the supplier selection process for corporate buyers. More companies want to track their transportation program’s carbon footprint (the emissions associated with their trips). This is especially important if the company you are dealing with is multinational.
As global players, companies are concerned with stricter reporting rules imposed by various governments (EU countries, for example). If you can’t provide detailed emissions reporting, don’t expect to be competitive in RFPs tendered in 2013.”
Green Ride Global (GRG), an industry program from The Carbon Accounting Company™, can vouch for the statements made by Chauffeur Driven above. Many Green Ride Global members are seeing a greater demand from corporate transportation buyers for carbon footprint reporting. GRG provides transportation providers with detailed emissions reporting that allows them to become more competitive and accountable for their environmental impacts.
